Yoga balls come in a variety of sizes. You might be familiar with the classic exercise ball workouts, but they create a whole new experience when it comes to yoga. Yoga balls can be used to improve balance during poses or elevate certain areas of the body to intensify the stretch.
Their bouncy, smooth material allows the body to move across the ball, or roll with it! Play with the movement of the ball and experiment with moving from one pose to another. Create a yoga flow centred around the ball and it’s movement and don’t be afraid of a few wobbles.
Yoga balls are also excellent for gentle exercise; even a light bounce on the ball is perfect for gentle strengthening. They are ideal for forms of restorative yoga, pregnancy or post-birth yoga or yoga for the elderly. However, a yoga ball can also be used by advanced yogis to really challenge and improve their balance.
